Ummmmm might fix up James's eyes and glasses later...
Basically this is my headcanon of James and Lily: Around sixth year James stops asking out Lily and so they're kinda neutral bout things for a while and then maybe James loses a quidditch match (gasp what?) and Lily feels bad and he's all alone on the field after the game. She goes to him and asks if they wanna be friends-which then ties into the title. Wow I'm such a genius ok I need to stop typing now bye!
